| Life history: | Rain was the Wolfriders' healer in Bearclaw's time, though he by no means posessed healing power of Leetah's quality. Rain was an accomplished healer, but often needed a lot of time and the help of herbs to heal people. For instance, when Treestump's lifemate Rillfisher was taken by a fever, Rain was able to take the fever away, but he couldn't restore her hearing. Rain was so concerned about the small number of the Wolfrider tribe that he started experimenting with 'forced' Recognition. As far as is known, Pike is the only result of this, as Rainsong was presumably born out of true Recognition, although it is unknown whom he Recognized. Rain was the first Wolfrider who was killed in Madcoil's attack, after which the tribe was without a Wolfrider-born healer until his grandson Mender was born. |
