| Hummer was an elf in Mantricker's tribe, who didn't like the way that Buckthorn was so proud at being the best in everything. To level things out, she learned to do everything as well or often even better, although she lacked Buckthorn's patience. Eventually the two of them held a staring contest, and after staring into each other's eyes for two days and two nights they Recognized. They learned to get along after that, and Hummer even learned some patience from Buckthorn, though not much.
